John Mullet c1790-after 1834.
John Mullet and his wife Susannah had at least six children, baptised in Barking between 1817 and 1834. On 19th October 1817, their son John was baptised. The registers between 1818 and 1820 have not yet been searched.
On 27th October 1822, two of their daughters were baptised, they were Charlotte (born 5th July 1820) and Mary (born 16th June 1822). On 28th September 1828, their son James (born 23rd July 1823) was baptised. On 16th October 1831, their daughter Charlotte Eleanor was baptised. Her birth date was not specified in the register, but other records suggest it was some time in 1829. On 29th June 1834, their son Abraham (born 24th May) was baptised.

On 25th December 1847, a marriage was held in Barking. The groom was Benjamin Laflin, a labourer of full age living in Barking and the son of Jonathan Laflin, labourer. The bride was Charlotte Eleanor Mullet, a minor, also living in Barking and the daughter of John Mullet, labourer.
If Charlotte Ellen had been born in 1831, she would have been 16 at the time of the marriage, which is just possible. If she had been born in 1826, she would have been 21 in 1847 and would not have been described as a “minor”. Consequently, she must have been born between 1827 and 1831. The 1861 census gives her age as 32 (suggesting she was born in 1829) and her birthplace as Barking. Her gravestone in Ringshall Churchyard indicates that she died on 14th August 1895, aged 66 years, which also suggests she was born in 1829.
